DNS stands for Domain Name Server and it helps the web page to load on your Chrome browser (or other browsers as well) from the server.

Method:1–

Clear DNS cache to fix DNS Probe Finished Nxdomain error:

This is one of the easiest and one of the best fixes to resolve this error. In this method, you will be deleting cache from the browser so that it freshly load website pages.

Sometimes when you open the website, it retrieves the web page from your browser’s cache memory and hence you see DNS Probe Finished Nxdomain error.

Here is what you need to do in this method:

  1. Open Google chrome.
  2. Type “chrome://net-internals” and hit.
  3. From the left-hand menu, select “DNS”Clear Cache in Chrome

  5. Click it and you will be able to clear DNS cache on Google Chrome.

Close the browser and try to access the website. You should now be able to access that website.

Method:2–

Flush DNS to fix the error:

If clearing Google Chrome cache doesn’t work, try to flush computer DNS. It is again a simple fix and requires you to run a few commands to do that. Just follow the steps thoroughly and you will be able to do it:

  1. Go to Desktop and press Win + RRun CMD command
  2. Type “cmd” in Run and press enter or “OK”. A command window will open.
  3. Type “ipconfig /flushdns” and press enter.Flush DNS
  4. It will flush DNS and once it is done you see a message saying “Successfully flushed the DNS resolver cache”DNS flushed
  5. Restart your computer and you should be able to get rid of the DNS Probe Finished Nxdomain error.

Method:3–

Change DNS settings:

The other method we could give try is changing DNS settings. In this method, you will be changing the modem settings that hopefully resolve this problem. Take a look.

  1. Right-click the Start Menu and the power menu will open.
  2. Click “Network Connections” and network settings will be opened.network settings
  3. Select the network connection. Right-click on it and chose Properties. The WiFi network setting will open.Network setting properties
  4. Look for “Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/ iPv4)” and select it.Change DNS
  5. Click “Properties”. If by default “Obtain DNS server address automatically” is selected, change it to “Use the following DNS server addresses“. Enter DNS servers as below and hit Ok.
    • Preferred DNS server: 8.8.8.8.
    • Alternate DNS server: 8.8.4.4.Change preferred & Alternate DNS server
  6. Restart your PC and it should resolve DNS Probe Finished Nxdomain error.

Method:4–

Reset Features to Default:

This is one of the easiest methods that could resolve this problem. Some of the readers of this blog have reportedly fixed the DNS Probe Finished Nxdomain problem with this method. Do the following:

  1. Open Google Chrome.
  2. Type “chrome://flags“
  3. Click “Reset all to default“
